Eligibility

The Deli Of The Year is open to any retail outlet situated anywhere within the United Kingdom that offers delicatessen products in part of its overall operation.

Description of the Award

Somewhere that captures the “Deli Attitude” is what is being looked for in a Deli Of The Year. An outlet that displays a great approach to retail in general and champions both local and regional specialities as well as supplying ranges that meet their customers’ needs and is supported by them. It’s a place where you can go to buy food that has been clearly chosen with great care for variety, quality, flavour, provenance and fit designed to exceed expectations and run with enthusiasm and knowledge that keeps customers returning again and again.  It’s not limited to a High Street Deli or rural Farmshop – it can be a Post Office or Village Shop with a deli offering or a corner shop that makes sure the local population are served with what they want whether it be Polish delicacies or the best local wines.

The search for Deli Of The Year starts during Purple Love Week 2010 (13th-21st Feb 2010) and is open for entry until the end of June 2010.  Shortlisting will take place during July 2010 and the overall winner will be announced during the Speciality Fine Food Show at London’s Olympia in September 2010.
